Men’s 4x400 Places 12th at NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships

Geneva, OH – The WPI men's track & field 4x400-meter relay placed 12th Thursday at the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Mount Union at the SPIRE Institute.

Junior Andrew Kelly (Medford, MA), freshman Alex Rus (Newton, MA), sophomore Ryan Wittenberg (Bedford, NH) and junior Warren Staver (Centreville, MD) ended up sixth in their heat with a time of 3:15.61, edging Colby by just .24 seconds thanks to a late push by Staver.

The time was quicker than the NEICAAA performance (3:16.88) which included alternate junior Paul-Henry Schoenhagen (Cleveland Heights, OH) while it was above the qualifying time set by the participating four at Oneonta (3:14.60)

Freshman Sydney Packard (Georgetown, MA) and junior Lea Strangio (Watertown, MA) hit the track for the 800-meter run tomorrow at 3:45pm.
