Westfield, MA --- WPI senior Madison Beck (Syracuse, NY) led all players with 15 points and classmate Ama Biney (Worcester, MA) handed in her second consecutive double-double as Women's Basketball concluded 2017 in the win column with a 68-45 decision versus Ramapo in the Westfield State Tournament consolation game Sunday afternoon.

Biney registered 13 points and 11 rebounds while senior Stasha Greenalch (Newington, CT) doled out 12 assists, two shy of Ramapo's team total. Senior Brittney Lambert (Hudson, NH) was also in double digits with 12 points on four 3-pointers to go with a career-best five boards.

Sophomore Jenna Harsh (Metuchen, NJ) led the Roadrunners with 11 points and five rebounds. Senior Bridgette Buckalew (New Egypt, NJ) also hauled in five boards while junior Tia Solomon (Fair Lawn, NJ) accounted for a quartet of helpers.

The Engineers were in a familiar situation with a 22-11 lead after one. Senior Maura Buckley (Melrose, MA) snapped the 8-8 tie with a jumper at 5:35 to ignite a 14-0 run. The outburst also featured back-to-back buckets by senior Brianna Dozier (Dedham, MA). Harsh put the Roadrunners in double digits with a 3-pointer with 49 seconds on the clock.

The second frame was back-and-forth with the exception of a jumper by sophomore Allie Wickersheim (Maywood, NJ) jumper and a free throw by senior Jina Crawford (New City, NY) free throw down the stretch.

A pair of layups by Biney and long-range field goals by Greenalch and Lambert pushed the advantage to 21 midway through the third. The Roadrunners then cut the deficit to 13 following an 8-0 run that ended with a layup by Crawford at 2:16. The Engineers went on to score the final 10 points of the game.

WPI scored 15 of the 17 points off turnovers and 11 of 14 second chance points. Ramapo led in the paint (24-18) and off the bench (18-16).

The Engineers (8-3) return to Harrington Auditorium for a 5:30 appointment with Springfield Wednesday. The Roadrunners (4-8) host Rutgers-Camden at the same time.
