Five WPI Student-Athletes Named to NEWMAC Spring All-Sportsmanship Teams

Westwood, MA --- Women's Rowing senior Eva Barinelli (Tewskbury, MA), Women's Track & Field senior Carley Dykstra (Andover, NJ), Baseball senior Doug Rives (Bethany, CT), Men's Track & Field junior Kevin O'Driscoll (Norwell, MA) and Softball sophomore Brittany Bolster (North Kingstown, RI) were named to their respective sport's NEWMAC All-Sportsmanship team following the spring season.

Now in its third year, the NEWMAC All-Sportsmanship team is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team, in every sport that best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of his/her overall performance or statistics for the season.

Baseball head coach Mike Callahan on Doug Rives, "Doug is a true competitor who gives everything he has on a daily basis. Through his grit and hard work he has earned the respect of his teammates as well as opponents." 

Men's Track & Field head coach Brian Chabot on Kevin O'Driscoll, "You'll always find Kevin encouraging his teammates every step of the way. Whether its greeting them as they step off the bus at every competition or helping promote their successes via social media. He is respectful of his fellow competitors and represents WPI Track & Field with great distinction."

Softball head coach Whitney Goldstein on Brittany Bolster, "Brittany exemplifies on and off the field what it means to lead with true sportsmanship - always respecting her opponents, teammates, and representing our WPI community with a first class effort. Brittany gives 100% effort to all she does with dignity and competitive class to represent our program in this category deservingly."
