Ann McCarron joined the WPI Athletic Department as Associate Director in July of 2010. She will be responsible for key areas of PERA including club sports, facilities, summer camps, and student-athlete programming and services.
McCarron arrives at WPI after serving the past year as Director of Member Services and Marketing for Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation at MIT. At MIT, she was part of the facility’s senior management team that oversaw the department’s member services, marketing, public relations, budgets, scheduling, facility management software and direct sales. Facilities included Alumni Pool and the Wang Fitness Center.
No stranger to Worcester, McCarron spent 15 years at Assumption College as the Recreational Sports Director/Facility Manager. While at Assumption she was responsible for opening the state-of-the-art Plourde Recreation Center, and implementing progressive fitness programs, club sports, summer camps and intramural programs, as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility.

Prior to Assumption, she was the Recreational Sports Director/Facility Coordinator at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. Other professional experiences in her career include Summer Recreation Director for the town of Tisbury on Martha’s Vineyard and Recreation Program Coordinator at New England College.
McCarron, is active in the National Intramural Recreation Sports Association. She earned her undergraduate degree from Plymouth State. She also holds a master’s degree is sports management from the United States Sports Academy.
