Shannah Dalton has been with WPI Athletics since the fall of 2014 and as of July 2019, was promoted to Associate Head Athletic Trainer to assist in the leadership and management of the WPI Athletics Varsity Sports Medicine program.
Daulton works with all 20 varsity teams on a daily basis while working directly with head athletic trainer Mike Desavage on scheduling, paperwork, policies and procedures.
Dalton arrived at WPI after six years, including two as a graduate assistant, at Division II Adelphi. While in Garden City, she was responsible for a number of sports including baseball, women’s volleyball and field hockey. In addition to her primary responsibilities, Dalton was a member of the department’s compliance strategic planning subcommittee and provided instruction and mentoring for Hofstra athletic training students.
As an undergraduate at Colby-Sawyer, Dalton covered teams at Saint Anselm and Proctor Academy in addition to her duties with the Chargers.
Dalton, a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and Eastern Athletic Trainers Association, earned an exercise and sport sciences bachelor’s degree with a concentration in athletic training from Colby-Sawyer and went on to complete her master’s in arts with a concentration in health education at Adelphi.
