|Title:||Class of 1991|
Orville Bailey, you left a mark on WPI athletics that will long be remembered. Your prolific scoring ability on the basketball court allowed you to rewrite the WPI record books.
The 1,776 points scored during your collegiate career is an all-time Engineers record, as is the season total of 577 points you accumulated during the 1984-85 season. You scored in double figures in 86 of 101 games during your career.
You proved that scoring was not your only skill as you led the team in assists and steals during the 1984-85 sesaon. That year you also led the team to a school best 20-8 record and the championship of the NCAA Division III Northeast Regionals. You were selected the most valuable player at the regionals and named first-team ECAC All-New England, second-team All-Northeast and WPI's outstanding senior male athlete.
Orville Bailey, it is with great pride and honor that we pay tribute to your outstanding achievements by inducting you tonight into the WPI Athletic Hall of Fame.
