|Title:||Class of 1992|
Mark Dupuis, your unrelenting drive and natural talent made you one of the greatest track and field athletes in WPI's history. Your leadership didn't stop off the field-you were also honored for academic achievements in your last three years at WPI and were voted president of the varsity club.
During your sophomore, junior and senior years, you didn't just lead the track and field team to victory in the shotput and discus, you were the top scorer each of the three years.
A letterman in football and track, you were accordingly dubbed "Muscles" by your peers, who also voted you track co-captain in your senior year. You set a school record in the shotput with a toss of 49 feet, 3.5 inches, and another in the discus with a hurl of 153 feet, 8 inches.
And when you weren't succeeding on the field, you were excelling in the classroom. Because of your academic determination, which included distinction on the Dean's list in your sophomore, junior, and senior years, you were recognized as one of the nation's outstanding student-athletes and were featured in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.
Mark Dupuis, it is with great pride that we pay tribute to your remarkable achievements by inducting you tonight in the WPI Athletic Hall of Fame.
