WORCESTER -- Travel issues have  forced the cancellation of WPI Baseball's season-opening doubleheader scheduled for Sunday, March 4th.

The twinbill, slated for 2:30pm in Auburndale, FL, versus Aurora (IL) will not be rescheduled as the Spartans are currently penciled in for contests on the Crimson and Gray's current off days of Tuesday and Thursday.  The Engineers are working with tournament officials on scheduling contests on their off days as there is the possibility of other teams in similar situations due to the Nor'easter has wreaked havoc in New England and the Mid-Atlantic the last 48 hours.

Mike Callahan's squad now turns its attention to Monday, when they are set to meet Coe (IA) in a 9:30am doubleheader at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale.

Updated Sunday Afternoon - WPI will now play Gwynedd Mercy (PA) at 10:30am Tuesday followed by DeSales (PA) at 1:30pm at Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven, FL.  The two teams were kind enough to not play each other as orginally scheduled to allow the Engineers to makeup their two games from Sunday.
