Westwood, MA --- WPI's Sean McAllen (Prospect, CT) and Nick Ostrowski (Charlton, MA) claimed the NEWMAC Offensive and Defensive Athlete of the Week honors, respectively, for their efforts at Husson on Saturday.
McAllen rushed for three second quarter touchdowns as WPI football closed out its non-conference schedule with a 31-12 road triumph. His three scores now give him 228 career points, moving him past Mike Bucci (218 - 1986-89) for second all-time in school history behind Jason Wooley (338 - 1989-92).
Ostrowski, meanwhile, shared game-high tackle honors with 10 for the Engineers, including a stop-for-loss. To date, the local product has recorded 184 career tackles, including 102 unassisted, to go with 10 for-loss (four sacks), four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and three interceptions.
Both earned honors last season and were part of the first sweep in NEWMAC history on October 30, 2017. Norwich's Manni Romero (Phillipsburg, NJ) collected special teams accolades.
