WORCESTER – Carly Cidado (Easton, MA) netted a hat-trick and Abby O'Sullivan (Walpole, MA) eclipsed 100 career points as the WPI field hockey team blanked visiting Becker, 6-0, Friday evening on Alumni Stadium. The Engineers move to 9-0 on the year while the Hawks even out at 4-4.

Cidado knocked home all the odd numbered goals; at 2:40, 12:56 and 34:15, respectively, while O'Sullivan reached the milestone with the second of the contest at 5:28, and Julia Vanderstreet (West Bridgewater, MA) made it 4-0 at 22:45. O'Sullivan was assisted by Emma Bennett (Hampstead, NH) and the fourth was aided by Shannon Hynes (Auburn, MA). Later in the game, Anne Davis (Sandwich, MA) increased the lead to 6-0 with a goal at 48:45.

WPI netminder Ali Gannon (Fremont, NH) halted one shot in the first half and Gabrielle Acquista (Longmeadow, MA) stopped a pair in the second.

For the game, the Engineers took 20 of 24 shots and 15 of 18 shots on-goal, and were awarded nine of 11 penalty corners.
