Men’s Basketball’s Wisniewski and Walker Earn All-WACBA Honors
March 19, 2019WORCESTER – WPI junior Jake Wisniewski (West Brookfield, MA) and sophomore Reid Walker (Lithia, FL) were named to the Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) All-Star second team, as revealed on Wednesday in Jen Toland’s weekly college column. The annual awards were voted upon by sports information directors or primary contacts from each of the nine NCAA schools in Worcester County, including Division I Holy Cross and Division II Assumption, as well as members of the local media. -
Wisniewski Named NEWMAC MBB Defensive Player of the Year; Walker Also Honored
February 26, 2019Westwood, MA --- WPI junior Jake Wisniewski (West Brookfield, MA) was selected as the NEWMAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Year and sophomore Reid Walker (Lithia, FL) was named to the NEWMAC All-Conference second team, as voted upon by the league’s head coaches following the regular season. Wisniewski was also tabbed as the team’s NEWMAC All-Sportsmanship honoree. -

February 20, 2019Westwood, MA --- Guided by four men and three women from the WPI swimming & diving programs, 30 winter student-athletes were named to their respective NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Teams. The women’s team led the way with 17, which was second in the league by two selections, while the men’s team boasted 10. Women’s Basketball notched two and Men’s Basketball registered one. -

February 16, 2019WORCESTER – Senior Tim Roberts (Oak Bluffs, MA) notched a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead nationally-ranked MIT to an 84-81 victory over WPI on the final day of the NEWMAC men’s basketball regular season Saturday afternoon in Harrington Auditorium. Sophomore Colin McNamara (Arlington, MA) scored a career-high 27 to go with five assists for the host Engineers. -
