Men's Basketball to Tangle with Yeshiva in NCAA Tournament at Johns Hopkins

Indianapolis, IN --- The WPI men's basketball has earned a Pool C (at-large) bid and will face Yeshiva (NY) at 1pm in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament at Johns Hopkins.  The hosts from Baltimore will play Penn State Harrisburg in the nightcap of Friday's doubleheader with the two winners set to meet in the second round on Saturday at a time to be determined.       

It will mark WPI's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2016 but its 11th in the last 17 seasons under 19-year head coach Chris Bartley.  The Engineers are 20-7 this season and were receiving votes in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25.  The Crimson and Gray will be participating in their 13th NCAA Tournament in program history, with other appearances occurring in 1982 and 1985.  

Yeshiva is 27-1 on the season and ranked 15th in the most recent D3hoops.com Top 25.  The Maccabees, the champions of the Skyline Conference, own the longest current win streak in Division III Men's Basketball at 27 games. 

Host Johns Hopkins (24-3) captured the Centennial Conference crown by spoiling No. 1 Swarthmore's undefeated season with a buzzer beater in the tournament final while Penn State Harrisburg (20-7) won the automatic bid from the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC).
