David Brown begins his fifth year on Coach Bartley's staff in 2020-21.
Brown, a four-year letterwinner, was the defensive stopper from his starting guard position during his last two seasons with the Engineers. As as senior, he enjoyed his most productive campaign, averaging 7.6 points per game and dishing out 71 assists. Argubaly, his highlight was drainning three free throws with under two seconds remaining in overtime of WPI's one-point victory over Trinity.
The former team captain that helped lead WPI to the NCAA Tournament and NEWMAC Regular Season Championship in 2009 and 2011, as well as an ECAC New England Tournament Championship in 2012. Brown, a Business Management major from Lowell, MA, has a wealth of coaching experience including a previous stint as an assistant coach at WPI during the 2012-13 season when WPI enjoyed a 26-3 overall record, NEWMAC Tournament and Regular Season Championships and an NCAA 2nd round appearance. He has also served as an assistant coach for two exceptional head coaches at the high school level.
For three seasons he helped former WPI assistant basketball coach Anthony Faradie build the Methuen High School program, and most recently he assisted Phil Connors in the building of the Burlington High School program. Since 2014 Brown has worked with Rick Gorman and well respected New England Storm AAU Basketball Program, where he has built a reputation as an excellent teacher of the game.
