Worcester, MA --- The WPI men's rowing team posted a second place finish at the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta on Saturday. The Varsity Eight - John Morrissey (New Milford, CT), Nick Cebry (Bedford, MA), Kendall Cotton (Harvard, MA), Alex Barat (Franklin Park, NJ), Gary Jackson (Hopedale, MA), Matt Foley (Pepperell, MA), Jackson Krupnick (Ashville, NC), Matt Deptula (Budd Lake, NJ) and coxswain Tyler Collins (Manchester, NH) – clocked a 14:03.712 while Division I Holy Cross won the race with a 13:44.126.
The Second Varsity Eight which consists of Keegan Cole (Spencer, MA), Joe Sperry (Northampton, MA), Norm Harris (Gilford, NH), Nick Van Sciver (Wayland, MA), Brede Doerner (Branford, CT), Zach Gendreau (Galesville, WI), Danny Singer (Eldersburg, MD), Dan Seaman (Claremont, NH) and coxswain Mitra Marvasti-Sitterly (Glastonbury, CT) turned in a 14:35.868 to claim seventh.
Holy Cross won the novice race while the Novice A boat comprised of Keegan Train (Excelsior, MN), Bobby Ronacher (Dunedin, FL), Michael Beinor (Sutton, MA), Victor Vasquez (Lynn, MA), Dean Schifilliti (Ossining, NY), Jack Perry (Londonderry, NH), Tony DiBiasio (Manchester, NH), Michael LoTurco (Storrs, CT) and coxswain Robyn Quartararo (Smithtown, NY) took second (15:32.604) and was followed by the Novice B boat of Joe Lidwin (Chantilly, VA), Paul Danielson (Niskayuna, NY), Keane Bacso (Titusville, NY), Adilet Issayev (Almaty, Kazakhstan), Scott Cazier (Wheaton Ridge, CO), Zachary Ericson (Beacon, NY), Ryan Killea (Hillsborough, CA), Kyle Bessette (Chatman, MA) and coxswain Kelsey Regan (Winchendon, MA) in third (15:42.068),
Tyler Chaulk (Shrewsbury, MA), Joe Ziyao (Nanjing, China), Jason Zhao (Qinhuangdao, China), Oliver Simon (Newton, MA), Matthew Michaels (Maplewood, NJ), Dylan Renshaw (Gap, PA), Jon Ross (Davie, FL), Nan Zhang (Zhengzhou, China) and coxswain John Lomi (Coventry, CT) put the Novice C boat in eighth place with a time of 17:42.287.
The Engineers continue the fall portion of the schedule on Saturday and Sunday at the prestigious Head of The Charles Regatta.
