Worcester, MA --- The WPI men's rowing's varsity eight took home third out of 17 boats that were entered in the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta on Saturday.
The boat of Kendell Cotton (Harvard, MA), Matt Foley (Pepperell, MA), Dean Schifilliti (Ossining, NY), Jackson Krupnick (Ashville, NC), Danny Singer (Eldersburg, MD), Nick Cebry (Bedford, MA), Keegan Cole (Spencer, MA), Matt Deptula (Budd Lake, NJ) and coxswain Mitra Marvasti-Sitterly (Glastonbury, CT) was just 0.07 seconds behind second place Bates, posting a time of 13:30.878. The second varsity made up of Michael Eaton (Exeter, NH), Joe Sperry (Northampton, MA), Michael Beinor (Sutton, MA), Liam Rucker (Oakton, VA), Norm Harris (Gilford, NH), Dan Seaman (Claremont, NY), Brede Doerner (Branford, CT), Paul Esteve (Colchester, CT) and coxswain Kelsey Regan (Winchendon, MA) reached the line in a time of 13:54.898.
The varsity four comprised of Keegan Train (Minnetonka, MN), Jack Perry (Londonderry, NH), Scott Cazier (Wheat Ridge, CO), Chris Sample (Groveland, MA) and coxswain John Lomi (Coventry, RI) and the second varsity four of Matthew Ryder (Lebanon, NH), Bobby Ronacher (Dunedin, FL), Ryan Killea (Hillsborough, CA), Paul Danielson (Niskayuna, NY) and coxswain Julianna Mello (Dartmouth, MA) were back-to-back in 11th (16:25.663) and 12th place (16:28.893) respectively.
The novice A entry of Nicholas Carabillo (Kinderhook, NY), Everett Harding (Lee, MA), Jeremiah Leonard (Lyme Center, NH), Zach Estrella (Berkley, MA), James Vorosmarti (Center Valley, PA), Jonathan Metzger (Glastonbury, CT), Zack Lingham (Guilford, CT), Jeremy Hemingway (Westford, MA) and coxswain Sarah Terwilliger (Guilford, CT) captured goal in a time of 15:19.491 of while the novice B boat of Alex Legere (Hooksett, NH), Anderson DeRosier (Bethel, CT), Samuel Bickham (Corning, NH), Devin Stevens (Northbridge, MA), Gavin Yu (Changchun, China), Zitong Jiang (Chengdu, China), Daniel Cammarata (Simsbury, CT), Austen Couvertier (Islip, NY) and coxswain Jordan Burklund (West Des Moines, IA) was 17:19.103.
WPI competes in the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday and Sunday.
