Adams did not allow a goal in 245 minutes of work as the Engineers went 2-0-1 on the road last week. The sophomore's only save in a first half of work for Elmira was a memorable one as he stopped a PK in WPI's 4-0 victory over the Soaring Eagles. Adams then made four stops as WPI and Springfield played to a 0-0 double overtime Saturday. It was the third straight scoreless draw for the two team which shared the NEWMAC regular season title and played in the conference tournament title game in 2017. Adams wrapped up his week by making a pair of saves in a 2-0 blanking of Mitchell on Sunday.
He is the first defensive honoree since Reese Petersen who was recognized last September and is the first WPI goalkeeper since Connor Hoeckele in the first week of the 2014 campaign. Mark Calnan earned offensive accolades two weeks ago.
Men's Soccer (11-2-3, 3-0-3 NEWMAC) concludes the regular season Saturday morning with a 10am Senior Day matchup versus Clark (10-4-2, 2-3-1).
