WPI Yields Back-to-Back United Soccer Coaches College Men’s Team Academic Awards

Kansas City, MO --- The WPI men's soccer program has earned the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award for the second consecutive year. College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2018-19 academic year.

Brian Kelley's Engineers were second in the NEWMAC, fourth in New England, and tied with South Carolina, Stanford, East Tennessee State and Carleton for 20th of 349 teams, with a 3.5 GPA. The region's top three feature MIT, Middlebury and Division I Yale. The Crimson and Gray were also feted in 2015.

WPI is also one of 259 schools to have both men's and women's programs recognized.

The 2019-20 team treks to Wheaton tomorrow for a 2pm NEWMAC match, and will now travel to Middlebury on Tuesday.
