Westwood, MA --- WPI junior Renee LeClaire (Merrimack, NH) was honored as the NEWMAC Softball Athlete of the Week. The Engineers have claimed three of the last four accolades as senior RiAnna May (Westminster, CO) and freshman Marissa Gonzales (Oakley, CA) were recognized on March 12 and March 26, respectively.

LeClaire batted .529 with a slugging percentage of .765 and an on-base percentage of .550, as well as three extra base hits, two doubles, and one triple in a 5-1 week. The junior went 2-for-3 in the Engineers game one triumph versus No. 12 Amherst and went on to go a combined 5-for-6 in Saturday's twinbill against Wheaton. LeClaire helped the Engineers to two league sweeps over Springfield and Wheaton while boasting a perfect fielding percentage at first base with 45 putouts and six assists.

MIT's Raven Nasser (Methuen, MA) was the NEWMAC Softball Pitcher of the Week while teammate Kelsey Saucier (Worcester, MA) was selected as the WPI Women's Student-Athlete of the Week.

Softball (15-5) is scheduled to take on Westfield State Wednesday in a 3:30pm non-conference doubleheader on Rooftop Field.
