WORCESTER -- While Worcester was dealing with a foot of snow on Monday, it was rain that causing issues for WPI softball and baseball in Florida.  Early morning rains forced the postponement of two softball games Monday afternoon at the Randy Larson Softball Complex in Plant City while baseball saw its doubleheader with Waynesburg (PA) pushed back from a 10:30am start to a 1:30pm first pitch in Auburndale.

Softball was scheduled to take on Illinois College at 12:45pm Monday and will now face the Lady Blues at 1:15pm Wednesday.  The Engineers are also slated to now play an 11am game on Wednesday, an original off day, and it appears their other opponent for Monday - Saint Benedict (MN) - also has an opening on Wednesday.  When the opponent is official announced, we'll update this story.

Both teams began their respective Florida trips with a pair of victories on Sunday.  Baseball took a doubleheader from Penn State Fayette by scores of 10-5 and 7-0 in Auburndale while Softball made the trip to the Chain of Lakes Softball Complex in Titusville, FL and defeated Simmons 4-1 and Bluffton (OH) 9-1.
