Indianapolis, IN --- NEWMAC Champion WPI will travel to Tufts for the regional portion of the 2019 NCAA Division III Softball Championship and will face Little East Champion Eastern Connecticut State on Friday. The NESCAC Champion, and host, Jumbos will take on GNAC Champion St. Joseph (CT).
The Engineers (32-9), who are making their third appearance in five seasons, enter this year's tournament with a 6-4 record and two regional championships. The Warriors (29-11) are returning to the tournament following a three-year hiatus. In all, ECSU is 84-41 with four national championships and eight more top 4 finishes in 20 appearances. Tufts (30-8) touts a 62-29 record with three national titles in 17 tries. The Blue Jays (27-17) are making their second appearance overall, and first since 2000.
The winner of the Medford Regional will take on the winner of the Cambridge Regional which features NEWMAC runner up No. 21 MIT (27-10-1), NAC Champion Husson (24-9), NJAC runner up No. 17 Rowan (30-12) and NECC Champion Eastern Nazarene (28-13).
Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $5 for students, children, and senior citizens.
