Louisville, KY --- Brittany Bolster (North Kingstown, RI), Caraline Wood (Averill Park, NY) and Lindsay Ambrosino (Chelmsford, MA) were recognized as National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar Athletes for their work in the classroom.

Bolster is a back-to-back recipient while Wood, a CoSIDA Academic All-American, rejoined the scroll, and Ambrosino made the list for the first time. By achieving a 3.5 GPA or better, the trio helped the team exceed the threshold for recognition (3.0) with a 3.27 GPA.

Softball (33-11) won the NEWMAC regular season and tournament titles and earned the program's third invitation to the NCAA Division III Championship tournament in five seasons. In addition to splitting with nationally-ranked, and a regional host, MIT in the regular season, WPI bounced back from a loss to its rival in the winners bracket final to win three games on the final day of the NEWMAC Championship, including two more against Cambridge's Engineers.
