Bridgewater, MA --- Alana Aubin (Taunton, MA) won three individual events and helped a relay team to victory as the WPI Women's Swimming and Diving team downed Bridgewater State 152-116 on Saturday. The team ends the dual meet season 5-4.
Aubin started the day off teaming with Lauren Anderson (Bedford, MA), Amanda Blom (Wilkes-Barre, PA) and Kelsey Thomas (Webster, NY) to win the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 4:33.63.
The junior raced to a 2:07.22 win in the 200-yard freestyle, while posting the best times in the 50-yard butterfly (29.13) and 400-yard IM (5:15.22).
Anderson finished second in the 100-yard backstroke with a 1:07.49.
Sweeping the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events was Kelin Song (Providence, RI) who registered times of 27.29 and 59.25, while Emily Colpas (Holden, MA) won the 100-yard (1:21.85) and the 200-yard breaststrokes (2:54.93).
Heather Peruffo (Poughkeepsie, NY) claimed first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:49.89) and was runner up in the 200-yard backstroke (2:24.11).
In the 200-yard butterfly Sonja Kent (West Boylston, MA) finished first with a time of 2:23.84 which was just shy of 12 seconds ahead of the next swimmer.
Rookie Sarah Meehan (Brewer, ME) placed second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:58.24.
Marissa Goerke (San Diego, CA) amassed 213.60 points to take the one-meter dive, while teammate Hannah McCallum (Lafayette, CO) scored 205.60 for the highest marks in the three-meter.
Rounding out the day with a victory was the team of Samantha Sargalski (Windsor, CT), Song, Kent, and Meehan who had the fastest time in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Up next for Women's Swimming and Diving are the NEWMAC Championships the weekend of February 18-20 hosted by Mount Holyoke.
