Potsdam, NY --- The Engineers of the women's swimming and diving team earned their first win of the season, 146-134, while visiting the Golden Knights of Clarkson on Saturday.
Sarah Dinwoodie (East Greenwich, RI) was excellent for WPI, winning the 200 free with a time of 2:24.46 and coming in second in the 100 free (1:06.75) and the 200 IM (2:50.03), also swimming the first leg of the 200 medley relay. Sonja Kent (West Boylston, MA) won the 800 free and 200 back with respective times of 9:49.56 and 2:37.87 while coming in third in the 50 free (:30.69) and swimming the second leg of the 400 free relay.
Alexandra Sanz-Guerrero (Ann Arbor, MI) was triumphant in the 400 free with a time of 5:15.36, and came in second in the 800 free (10:44.52) and fifth in the 50 free (32.06) while swimming the third leg of the 400 free relay. Kelin Song (Providence, RI) won the 200 IM (2:45.86) while coming in second in the 100 and 200 breast (1:28.25 and 3:11.68 respectively). Song also swam the second leg of the 200 medley relay. Alana Aubin (Taunton, MA) was another winner for her team with a victory in the 100 fly and placed second in both the 100 back (1:18.37) and the 50 free (:30.29). She also swam the first leg of the 400 free relay.
Heather Peruffo (Poughkeepsie, NY) won the 100 back (1:15.48) and was second in the 200 back (2:43.82) and third in the 100 fly (1:17.93). Nica Sylvia (Martha's Vineyard, MA) won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
Flush win the win, the Crimson and Gray will compete in the New England Invitational in White River Junction, Vermont on Saturday, November 5th.
