Lybarger Leads Men's Swimming and Diving at Coast Guard

New London, CT --- Andrew Lybarger (Decatur, GA) came in second in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:01.15 as the WPI men's swimming program travelled to New London, Connecticut to face NEWMAC conference rival Coast Guard on Saturday. Coast Guard would win the meet, 127-82.

Lybarger also had a 22.86 in the 50 free, earning him the fourth place spot.

Eric Spazzarini (Enfield, CT) came in third in the 200 back with a time of 2:09.40. Keith Gagnon (West Hartford, CT) had a third place finish in the 200 breast with a 2:28.01 time. Nick Catano (Goffstown, NH) finished the 1000 free in 10:47.83, placing him in fourth. Ben Collins (Newbury, MA) had a time of 5:20.14 in the 500 free, good for fourth place. He also took fifth in the 1000 free with a 11:12.90. Adam Trumbley (Prospect, CT) placed fourth in the 200 breast with a 2:32.62. Cullen O'Brien (Ben Harbor, ME) was fifth in the 50 free with a time of 24.17. Rob Cakounes (Chelmsford, MA) came in fifth in the 200 fly with a 2:15.56.

Lybarger, Cakounes and Collins would team with Benjamin List (Bedford, MA) to place third in 200 medley relay.

The team is back in action on Saturday, December 3rd as they compete in the Wesleyan Invitational.
