Women's Swimming Competes in Worcester City Championships

Worcester, MA --- WPI's women's swimming and diving team participated at the Worcester City Championships at Holy Cross on Saturday.

Sonja Kent (West Boylston, MA) led the team with second place finishes in the 1650 free with a time of 18:16.57, the 400 IM (4:53.36) and the 500 free (5:24.27).

Nica Sylvia (Martha's Vineyard, MA) finished third for WPI in the 3 meter diving (200.18) and fourth in the 1 meter diving (207.59).  Alana Aubin (Taunton, MA) finished fourth in the 100 free (57.28) and 100 fly (1:02.96) and sixth in the 200 free (2:05.50). Jetta Garrity (Lynn, MA) had a sixth place finish in the 100 breast (1:18.02). Taylor Briseno (Mansfield, MA) finished seventh in the 200 fly (2:28.50). Heather Peruffo (Poughkeepsie, NY) finished seventh in the 200 back (2:24.92) and eighth in the 100 back (1:07.29). Kelin Song (Providence, RI) finished eighth in the 100 fly (1:05.34) and eighth in the 200 fly (2:34.22).

The Crimson and Gray will travel to UMass Dartmouth on Thursday, January 26th as they compete against the Corsairs.
