Shenandoah, TX --- WPI diver Veronica Nikolaki (Athens, Greece) wrapped her up her fantastic freshman season by competing at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships this past week in suburban Houston, Texas.
The rookie finished 24th Wednesday in the 3-meter event on the opening day before placing 22nd Friday on the 1-meter board.
Nikolaki, who became the first diver and the first woman in the swimming and diving program's Division III history to participate in the NCAA National Championships, registered 359.95 points during Wednesday's morning session. She amassed 368.85 points during her effort Friday in the one-meter competition.
Her participation concluded the 2012-2013 season for WPI Women's Swimming and Diving. The Engineers finished their dual-meet season with a program best 9-3 record and placed eighth at the NEWMAC Championships last month.
