Women's Swimming and Diving Competes at Clark Invitational

WORCESTER – Sophomore Kaye Dandrea (Lakeville, MA) secured a pair of victories as the WPI women's swimming and diving team headed down Park Ave. for the Clark Invitational Saturday afternoon.

Dandrea delivered in the 1,000-yard freestyle (12:02.98) as well as the 200-yard breaststroke (2:45.28). She also claimed third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:41.50). Freshman Jill Onishi (Groton, MA) touched the wall first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.58) and 200-yard IM (2:31.60) while finishing second of three competitors in the 200 breast (2:47.28).

Junior Sierra Fowler (Bensalem, PA) earned silver in the 50-yard freestyle (26.12) and 100-yard backstroke (1:07.56). Rookie Sarah McKeage (St. Petersburg, FL) was third in both events (26.51, 1:09) while finishing second in the 100-yard freestyle (58.11) and sixth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:12.54). Junior Abbey Nack (Ghent, NY) was fourth in the 50 free (26.73). Freshman Elsa Luthi (Seattle, WA) and senior Kate Gillis (Needham, MA) also represented the Engineers in the non-scoring meet.

WPI looks toward the NEWMAC Championships on February 18-21 hosted this year by MIT.
