WORCESTER – WPI Swimming & Diving head coach Paul Bennett recently announced the hiring of Keith Corbeil as the program's full-time assistant coach.
"We are beyond excited to welcome Keith to the WPI Swimming & Diving staff," remarked Bennett. "His knowledge of aquatics and his experience coaching will make an immediate impact on our student-athletes. I look forward to working with Keith to see our athletes improve and achieve."
Corbeil brings collegiate coaching experience from the junior college and Division II ranks. More recently, he was an assistant coach at T.C. Roberson High School in Asheville, NC while working full time as the Certified Pool Operator & Recreation Coordinator for the Town of Canton, NC, where he led a campaign to help fund a $2.2 million outdoor aquatics project.
"This opportunity is what I was searching for and I am grateful to head coach Paul Bennett and the athletic department," began Corbeil. "I am excited to bring my skills and experience to the WPI student-athletes and I'm ready to contribute to the team. I look forward to meeting the student-athletes and serving in our educational community."
Corbeil earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Ferris State and went on to Western Carolina for a Master's in project management. In addition to being a Red Cross certified lifeguard, CPR and first aid instructor, he is also qualified to train fellow lifeguard instructors.
