Colorado Springs, CO --- The WPI men's and women's swimming & diving programs were lauded as College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams. The programs were selected by the CSCAA's Scholar All-America committee on the basis of their fall grade point averages.
The women tied Dickinson, John Carroll, Pacific U, Saint Joseph (CT), and Southwestern for 33rd out of 171 recognized teams with a 3.53, up from 3.46 a year ago and 3.34 before that. The men tied Southwestern for 37th out of 118 eligible teams with a 3.34.
To earn the honor, teams were required to post a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the fall Semester and maintain a roster of 12 or more student-athletes.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the oldest organization of college coaches in America – is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
WPI heads to Hartwick Saturday for a noon dual.
