WPI Captures NEWMAC Men’s Presidents Cup for the Second Time
June 18, 2020Westwood, MA --- For the second time in the eight-year history of the award, WPI has claimed the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Presidents Cup, as announced at the conference’s annual meetings earlier this month. The Crimson and Gray also took home the honor after the 2014-15 academic year and had placed second in all four years in between the two victories. -

Williams Named a College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America All-America
April 15, 2020WORCESTER -- WPI sophomore Sid Williams has been recognized as an All-America by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). The sophomore earned the honor in the 100-yard backstroke. -
Doherty, Matsco, Vinson and McCann Tabbed to NEWMAC Winter Sportsmanship Teams

40 WPI Winter Student-Athletes Earn NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Accolades
March 05, 2020Westwood, MA --- Highlighted by 32 members of the swimming and diving squads, 23 from the women’s side and nine from the men’s side, 40 WPI winter student-athletes were named to their respective NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Teams. The women’s basketball squad added six, while the men’s basketball were represented by a pair of athletes. -
Williams Selected for NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships
February 27, 2020Indianapolis, IN --- WPI sophomore Sid Williams earned an invitation to compete in the 2020 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, hosted by the ODAC and Greensboro Sports Commission March 18-21 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, NC. -
400 Free Relay Sets School Record as Women's Swimming and Diving Take Third at NEWMACs
February 23, 2020Cambridge, MA --- Five top-10 finishes propelled the WPI women's swimming team to a third place finish in the NEWMAC Championship at MIT on Sunday night. The third place finish marked the second best finish for the team, bested only by their second place finish at home in 2017. -

Relays Deliver Swimming and Diving a Strong Start at NEWMAC Championships
February 20, 2020Cambridge, MA --- The WPI swimming and diving teams got off to a strong starts on Thursday at the NEWMAC Championships hosted by MIT. With the Engineers competing in the 800-yard freestyle, the women sit in second place with a fourth place showing in the A relay and a second place finish in the B relay while men are in fourth place after both relays garnered second in their respective races. -
Brownell and Hanson Log First Place Finishes for Women's Swimming & Diving at Tech Sprints
February 01, 2020WORCESTER --- Sophomore Jenn Brownell finished first in the 200-yard butterfly, clocking in at 2 minutes, 24.31 seconds, posted a personal best in the 25-yard backstroke with a second-place finish of 13.80 seconds, and finished second in the 50-yard backstroke in 28.76 seconds to lead the WPI women’s swimming and diving team to a second-place finish in the Tech Sprints Saturday. -
Williams Records a Pair of Victories for Men's Swimming and Diving at Tech Sprints
February 01, 2020WORCESTER — Sid Williams posted personal bests in the 50-yard backstroke and 25-yard backstroke, placing first in 23.01 and 10.93 seconds, respectively, and in the 25-yard freestyle collecting a second-place finish in 10.08 seconds, and was a part of the 200-yard medley team which came in first place with a time of 1 minute, 34.38 seconds to lead men’s swimming and diving team to a second-place finish (1,239 points) as they hosted the Tech Sprints Saturday. -
Double Trouble - Women's Swimming and Diving Post Saturday Wins at Hartwick and Norwich
January 25, 2020Oneonta NY and Northfield, VT --- WPI women’s swimming and diving claimed its second straight winning season and eighth consecutive season of a .500 record or better after two wins today over Hartwick and Norwich. WPI took down Hartwick with ten first-place wins for a total of 162 to points to Hartwick’s 121. -

Fast Relay Start Propels Women's Swimming and Diving to Road Win Over Stevens
January 19, 2020Hoboken, NJ --- The Engineers set the tone for their dual meet today against Stevens when WPI opened the 200 medley relay with a first, second and third place finish. Jenn Brownell, Molly Silsby, Carol Wang and Katherine Pawlak teamed up for the victory in a time of 1:52.33. A team composed of Rayna Harter, Olivia Petropulos, Sarah MacDonald and Lexi Clark swam into second in 1:52.67 while Sydney Seo, Emma Edwardson, Sofie de Oliveira and Cameron Cronin took third in 1:58.67. -
200 Freestyle Relay Helps Women's Swimming and Diving Nip Swarthmore in New Jersey
January 18, 2020New Providence, NJ --- A third-place finish for the 200 free relay team of Carol Wang (Framingham, MA), Kimberly Hazeltine (Stratham, NH), Katherine Pawlak (Westford, MA) and Molly Sykes (Falmouth, MA) in 1:41.35 led the Engineers over Swarthmore to earn their victory of the day, while No. 4 Johns Hopkins and No. 22 Rowan proved to be a test for WPI. -
