Springfield, MA --- Women's Indoor Track and Field's Adrianna Davis (Chelmsford, MA) qualified for the ECAC Championships in the high jump and 55-meter hurdles as WPI finished fourth as a team at the Springfield Invitational on Saturday. Three others qualified for the Division III New England Championships. Springfield paced the field, while Westfield State and Rhode Island College placed second and third.
Davis qualified by finishing second in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.04 and second in the high jump (5-2.25).
Funmi Adebayo (Medfield, MA) and Katye Milligan (Skowhegan, ME) qualified for the Division III New England Championships as they finished third (41-3.25) and fourth (40-11) in the weight throw, respectively. Also qualifying for the New England competition was Noelle Richard (Oxford, MA) who ran a 1:01.79 in the 400-meter dash.
WPI's top finishers also include Amira Yusif (Leominster, MA) in the 200-meter dash (4th - 29.37), Kristine Zeeb (Nashua, NH) in the 600-meter run (1:50.21), Caitlin Rush (Nashua, NH) in the 800-meter run (5th - 2:43.63), Stacey Rauen (San Gabriel, CA) in the 1000-meter run (4th - 3:31.85), Jenn Mann (Chelmsford, MA) in the 3000-meter run (3rd - 11:27.94), the 4x400 relay team of Richard, Yusif, Zeeb and Davis (4th - 4:25.72), the 4x800 relay team of Rauen, Rush, Emily Dudley (Woburn, MA) and Mann (5th - 11:10.84), Jacqui Foti (Hopkinton, NH) in the pole vault (5th - 8-6), and Sarah Cook (New Paltz, NY) in the long jump (4th - 15-2.25) and triple jump (32-2.75).
Women's Indoor Track and Field are off until they head to Bowdoin for a tri-meet with Middlebury on January 15, 2011.
