Women's Indoor Track and Field's Richard Breaks School Record at BU Terrier Invitational

Boston, MA --- Noelle Richard (Oxford, MA) notched a new school record and seven different team members qualified for championship competition as the WPI women's indoor track and field team participated in the BU Terrier Invitational on Friday.

Richard broke her own school record in the 400-meter dash as she finished 13th with a 58.90. Amira Yusif (Leominster, MA) and Caroline Allen (Norton, MA) each qualified in the 400-meter for the Division III New England Championships as they each ran a 1:02.32.

Kristine Zeeb (Nashua, NH) is eligible in the Division III New England Championships in the 500-meter dash (1:25.83).

In the mile run Vicky Hewey (Sanford, ME) posted a 5:20.53 and improved on her time for the Division III New England Meet, while Stacey Rauen (San Gabriel, CA) ran a time of 5:37.67.

The 4x400 relay team of Allen, Yusif, Adrianna Davis (Chelmsford, MA) and Richard finished 18 to (4:10.30) to qualify for the ECAC Championships.

Emily Hartzell (Brunswick, ME) cleared 3.05 meters in the pole vault and can compete in the Division III New England Championships.

Women's Indoor Track and Field is returns to competition on Friday when they head to the Tufts Pentathlon for a 5pm meet and then the Tartan Invitational hosted by Smith on Saturday.
