Three Earn All-New England Status as Women's Track and Field 13th at DIII NE

Cambridge, MA --- Noelle Richard (Oxford, MA) earned All-New England status in a pair of events to lead WPI Women's Track and Field to a 13th place finish at the Division III New England Championships that wrapped up Saturday night. MIT took the team competition with 141.5 points followed by Williams with 138 and Tufts with 96 as WPI picked up 18.

Richard crossed the finish line fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.80 and posted a 25.85 for eighth in the 200-meter dash. Kyla Wesley (Burlington, MA) and Amira Yusif (Leominster, MA) turned in a 26.77 and 26.90 to complete the 200 in 13th and 14th, respectively. Wesley notched a 20th place showing in the 100 meters (13.05).

Also earning All-New England honors were Julie Eagle (Rock Island, IL) who grabbed second in the high jump as she cleared 5-4.25 and Funmi Adebayo (Medfield, MA) with a heave of 146-3 for fifth in the hammer throw. Coming home 12th in the hammer was Katye Milligan (Skowhegan, ME) who posted a 132-10.

In the pole vault Emily Pearce (Avon, CT) placed ninth with a 10-8, while Jacqui Foti (Hopkinton, NH) registered a 9-8 for 22nd. Pearce also leapt 16-3 in the long jump for 17th spot.

Qualified Women's Track and Field athletes will venture to Southern Connecticut on Friday and Saturday for the All-New England Championships.
