Boston, MA --- The 4x400 relay team set a new school record as WPI Men's Track and Field participated in the Terrier Classic hosted by Boston University on Saturday, competing against teams from Divisions I, II and III.

The squad of Joey Collins (Standish, ME), Kyle Morette (Leominster, MA), Stephen Kocienski (Schaghticoke, NY) and Austin Holliday (Danville, CA) clocked a time of 3:20.61, qualifying them for the Division III New England Championships.

Holliday also qualified in the 200 meter event, recording a 23.22 time. Josh Brodin (Mansfield, MA) ran a 15:49.64 in the 5000 meter event, his best time of the season and matching his personal record. Robert Hollinger (Averill Park, MA) shaved six seconds off his time in the 5000 meters, clocking a 15:50.71.

Two Engineers posted ECAC qualifying times in the 400 meter event. Collins clocked a 50.00 while Kocienski finished with a 50.28, both times representing personal bests. Morette qualified clearing 14-11 inches in the high jump, a personal best. Andrew Zayac (Plymouth, MA) set a personal record in the mile event, with a 4:25.56.

Tim Forrest (Madison, CT) and Jay Giambarresi (Amesbury, MA) were exceptional in the 60 meter hurdles. Forrest's 8.64 mark was just 0.01 off his personal best while Giambarresi's 8.84 shattered his previous personal record.

Other notables include Wesley DeChristofaro (Woonsocket, RI), who had a season-best 6.58 meter distance in the long jump, and Tristan Richardson (Attleboro Falls, MA) cleared 6-2 in the high jump.

The Engineers are back in action next weekend when they participate in the Tufts Stampede.
