New York, NY --- Joey Collins (Standish, ME), Kyle Morette (Leominster, MA), Ryan Shooshan (Paxton, MA) and Stephen Kocienski (Schaghticoke, NY) placed fifth in the 4x400 relay event as WPI's Men's Track and Field team competed in the ECAC Championships at the New York Armory on Friday and Saturday. The quartet completed the race in 3:22.67 and helped WPI finish 42nd in a field that included teams from Maine to North Carolina and as far west as Illinois.
Senior Mike Thyden (Sutton, MA) finished sixth in the heptathlon bettering his school record with 4253 points. Collins was tenth in the 400 meters with a time of 49.92.
Freshman Tristan Richardson (Attleboro Falls, MA) posted a height of 6-1.50 in the high jump, good for 13th. Sophomore Wesley DeChristofaro (Woonsocket, RI) was 15th in the long jump with a 21-9.
The Engineers will begin their outdoor season on Saturday, March 31st at the Worcester City Meet hosted by Worcester State.
