New London, CT --- Noelle Richard (Oxford, MA), Vicky Hewey (Sanford, ME) and Emily Pearce (Avon, CT) all won two individual events to lead Women's Track and Field to a second place finish in a tri-meet at Coast Guard with Springfield on Saturday.
Richard clocked a 25.48 in the 200 meter dash and a 56.76 in the 400 meter dash. Richard also ran the first leg of the winning 4x100 meter relay team, along with Maya Rhinehart (Springfield, MA), Amira Yusif (Leominster, MA) and Kyla Wesley (Burlington, MA), finishing with a time of 50.15. Hewey ran to victories in the 5000 meter run (19:07.14) and 3000 steeplechase (11:36.29). Pearce earned gold in the in the long jump (16-3.25) and pole vault (11-1).
Other winners for the Engineers included Kristine Zeeb (Nashua, NH) in the 400 meter hurdles (1:08.87), Julie Eagle (Rock Island, IL) in the high jump (5-1) and Kimi Joback (Bedford, NH) in the hammer throw (144-1).
Second-place finishers included Julie Lamontagne (South Hadley, MA) in the 400 meter hurdles (1:09.94), Laura Pumphrey (East Hampton, CT) in the high jump (5-1), Sarah Cook (New Paltz, NY) in the triple jump (32-8.25) and Andrea Caprio (Tewksbury, MA) in the javelin throw (124-6). The 4x400 meter relay team with Rhinehart, Yusif, Caroline Allen (Norton, MA) and Zeeb came in second at 4:10.95.
Coming in third were Wesley in the 100 meter dash (13.09), Rhinehart in the 400 meter dash (1:01.47), Maria Grandoni (Framingham, MA) in the 800 meter run (2:27.67), Amy Babeu (Groveland, MA) in the 1500 meter run (5:11.11), Jill Perreira (Lancaster, MA) in the 400 meter hurdles (1:18.47) and Jacqui Foti (Hopkinton, NH) in the pole vault (9-0.25).
Adrianna Davis (Chelmsford, MA), who currently sits in third place, wraps up competition tomorrow at the Tufts Heptathlon while the rest of the team gears up for the Fitchburg State Invitational on Saturday, April 21st.
