Hewey and Richard Lead Women's Track and Field at All-New England All-Divisions

Cambridge, MA --- Vicky Hewey (Sanford, ME) placed second in the 3000 meter steeplechase, finishing with a time of 10:58.32 to lead WPI Women's Track and Field at the 2012 New England Outdoor Championship hosted by MIT on Friday and Saturday. Hewey's mark surpassed her own school record to pace the Engineers, and currently ranks her 20th in NCAA Division III, with the top 22 slated go to Nationals. 

Noelle Richard's (Oxford, MA) 56.81 in the 400 meter dash was good for fourth on the day and gave the Crimson and Gray a pair of All-New England All-Divisions performers.    

Emily Pearce (Avon, CT) came in ninth in the pole vault (11-7.75), just outside of the finals. Laura Pumphrey (East Hampton, CT) was eleventh in the high jump (5-1), while Adrianna Davis (Chelmsford, MA) finished 15th (5-1). Kimi Joback (Bedford, NH) had a throw of 125-7 in the javelin to come in eleventh and a 134-10 in the hammer throw to come in 23rd. Andrea Caprio (Tewksbury, MA) was twelfth in the javelin throw (125-1). 

The team will travel RPI to compete in the ECAC Championships next weekend.
