Women's Track Places Sixth at Springfield Invitational

Springfield, MA --- Senior Noelle Richard (Oxford, MA) achieved a first place finish with a season-best 58.8 in the 400-meter leading the Women's Indoor Track team to a sixth place finish at the Springfield Invitational on Saturday.  WPI posted 41 points while St. Lawrence was the overall meet winner with 113 points.

Freshman Liz Pellegrini (Worcester, MA) followed Richard finishing the 400 in 1:02.05 and securing the third place spot while teammate Maya Rhinehart (Springfield, MA) earned points for the Crimson and Gray with a sixth place finish (1:03.1).  Rhinehart and Pellegrini both garnered points in the 200-meter finishing fourth (27.6) and fifth (27.67) respectively.

Julie Eagle (Rock Island, IL) flew 5-2.25 to place third in the high jump while Laura Pumphrey (East Hampton, CT) came in fourth in the same event. 

In the 60-meter hurdles, senior Adrianna Davis (Chelmsford, MA) crossed the finish line in fourth place with a time of 9.59.  Kimi Joback (Bedford, NH) hurled 44-7.50 for sixth place earning the Engineers points in the weight throw, while Kelsie Lazaro (Somerset, MA) finished sixth in the 600-meter (1:44).

Women's Indoor Track and Field travels to the University Rhode Island Invitational next Saturday for an 11:00am start.
