Kingston, RI --- Women's Track and Field saw four student athletes qualify for post season events and one set a new school record at the Coaches Tribute Invitational hosted by the University of Rhode Island on Saturday afternoon. The meet featured mostly Division I and II programs.
Laura Pumphrey (East Hampton, CT) set a new school record and is ranked #2 in all of NCAA Division III while winning the high jump with a mark of 5-7.
Adrianna Davis (Chelmsford, MA) posted an ECAC qualifying time of 9.45 in the 60-meter hurdles while teammate Vicky Hewey (Sanford, ME) qualified for the DIII New England's in the mile with a time of 5:18.46 (11th).
Kelsie Lazaro (Somerset, MA) and Julie Tevenan (Weymouth, MA) also qualified for the ECAC at the meet. Lazaro in the 500 meter with a time of 1:21.99 (7th) and Tevenan in the 1000 meter with a time of 3:07.1 (13th).
Jacqui Foti (Hopkinton, NH) posted a 9-2.25 (11th) in the pole vault while Lauren Richard (Plymouth, MA) posted a 14-7.75 (13th) in the triple jump. Kimi Joback (Bedford, NH) threw for a distance of 42-0.50 (14th) in the weight throw, while Liz Pellegrini (Worcester, MA) timed out at 9.82 in the 60 meter hurdles. Finally, Maya Rhinehart (Springfield, MA) came in with a 27.72 in the 200 meter dash (19th).
WPI Women's Track and Field is off until Friday when it participate in the BU Valentine Invitational.
