Springfield, MA --- The WPI men's track and field team received All-ECAC performances from the 4x800 relay team of Lucas Roy (Bourne, MA), Nathan Varney (East Longmeadow, MA), Ryan Moran (Pembroke, MA) and Thomas Kostelak (Bernardsville, NJ) and high jumper Jameel Galloway (Randolph, MA) to highlight its showing at the 2013 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships hosted by Springfield.
The relay team finished in 7:53.46, crossing the line in eighth place. Galloway was one of 10 competitors to leap 6-3.25 and was a part of six athletes to tie for eighth place based on fewer misses on earlier heights. Teammate Tristan Richardson (Attleboro Falls, MA) cleared 6-1.25 to take home 24th place.
Gary Feldman (Ellington, CT) turned in a tenth place showing in the hammer throw with a heave of 168-0 while Tim Forrest (Madison, CT) clocked a 12th place showing in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.96. Stephen Kocienski (Schaghticoke, NY) wrapped up a record-setting career with a 13th place time in the 400 meters (49.36) and Austin Holliday (Danville, CA) finished 27th place in the 100 meters (11.22).
The 4x400 meter relay foursome of Joey Collins (Standish, ME), Nicholas Aleles (Tappen, NY), Ryan Shooshan (Paxton, MA) and Kocienski posted a 15th Place showing (3:22.55) while the 4x100 meter quartet of Julian Dano (Merrimack, NH) Holliday, Joey Collins (Standish, ME) and Ditton Kawalya (Kampala, Uganda) came across the line in 25th place (43.52)
The meet marked the end of a successful 2012-13 men's track and field season for the Engineers.
