BOSTON – The WPI men's track and field team turned in a number of personal and season bests at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational Saturday. The Engineers entered the competition slotted 10th in the USTFCCCA Division III regional rankings.
The foursome of sophomore Paul-Henry Schoenhagen (Cleveland Heights, OH), sophomore Andrew Kelly (Medford, MA), junior Ryan Dennis (Milford, CT) and sophomore Warren Staver (Centreville, MD) unofficially clocked the 14th best time so far this season in Division III with a 3:18.79 while winning their 4x400-meter relay heat.
Junior David Goodrich (North Haven, CT) completed the 800-meter run in a personal-best time of 1:57.61. Freshman Eric Salina (Burlington, MA) posted a 1:59.97 in his first attempt at the event while senior Nathan Varney (East Longmeadow, MA) logged a season-best 2:00.56.
Senior Lucas Roy (Bourne, MA) handed in a PR of 4:18.67 in the mile as sophomore Tristam Winship (Bedford, NH) followed with a time of 4:27.18. Freshman Thomas Mackintosh (Ellington, CT) took his 400-meter dash heat in a time of 51.42 and junior Brian D'Amore (Medfield, MA) needed just 23.08 to sprint 200-meters.
