Westwood, MA --- WPI freshman Oliver Thomas (Goffstown, NH), sophomore Nick Fleury (Hopkinton, NH), freshman Matt Adiletta (Bolton, MA) and junior Antoine Harris (Southington, CT) were honored as the NEWMAC Men's Relay Team of the Week.
The 4x100-meter quartet earned gold at Saturday's Amherst Spring Fling with a time of 43.40, which was 1.45 quicker than Wheaton and 1.52 faster than Brandeis. The performance is also second on the NEWMAC performance list.
Individually, Harris was second in the 200-meter dash and third in the 100-meter dash. Thomas was third in the 110-meter hurdles while Fleury, the lone member of the 4x100m that earned accolades for the same meet a year ago, was fourth in the 100m. Adiletta was fifth in both the 100m and 200m.
Babson's John Decker (Parkland, FL) and MIT's Yoral Shaoul (Raanana, Israel) took home the conference's track athlete and field athlete of the week accolades, respectively.
The Engineers head to Conn. College Friday for the Elite Distance portion of the Silfen Invitational and return Saturday for the remainder of the competition.
