Medford, MA --- Senior Xandria Korn (Woodinville, WA) and junior Sydney Packard (Georgetown, MA) each won an event with an NCAA Division III Top 25 performance as the women's track & field team competed at Tufts' Gantcher Center for the second consecutive weekend. In addition to the No. 18 Engineers, the Tufts Cupid Challenge included No. 2 Williams, No. 4 MIT, No. 9 SUNY Geneseo, No. 12 Brandeis, New England No. 6 Tufts, Amherst, Connecticut College, Middlebury and Wellesley.
Korn cleared a personal-best 5-4.50, and is currently No. 18 on the NCAA Division III performance list, in the high jump while Packard turned in the 25th-ranked mile (5:08.21). Freshman Bridget Wirtz (Branford, CT) achieved a height of 11-5.75 in the pole vault to rank 32nd on the national scroll.
The mile also saw sophomore Keely Nistler (Vadnais Heights, MN) and junior Ari Rozen (Carver, MA) post Division III New England qualifying times of 5:18.26 and 5:21.00. Senior Carley Dykstra (Andover, NJ), who was already a D3NE qualifier, also cleared 11-5.75 on Saturday. Junior Faye Gauthier (West Warwick, RI) was second in the weight throw with a distance of 46-8.25.
Two of the three relays earned bronze as freshman Janelle Knight (Santa Barbara, CA), sophomore Arden Tanner (Ventura, CA), senior Michelle Gencorelli (Andover, MA) and senior Kendra O'Malley (Charlton, MA) clocked a 1:48.72 in the 4x200m, and Nistler, senior Katie Nugent (Huntington Station, NY), sophomore Lauren Kaija (Reading, VT), and Packard handed in a 9:49.03 in the 4x800m. Tanner was also third as an individual in the 60-meter dash (8.10).
Sophomore Allison Kloeckner (Shelburne, VT) was sixth in the shot put with a distance of 34-4.75 while sophomore Madison Perry (Biddeford, ME) and freshman Emma Hartzel (Littleton, MA) were 6-7 in the 600-meter run with times of 1:44.91 and 1:45.85. Gencorelli took eighth in the 200-meter dash (27.88), as did Nugent with a D3NE time of 1:01.63 in the 400-meter dash.
Freshman Nicole Whipkey (Portland, ME) crossed the 1,000-meter run finish line in 3:15.12 while Knight leaped 33-5.75 in the triple jump. Also representing the Crimson and Gray were freshman Kaelyn Foss (Thomaston, CT) in the 3,000-meter run, senior Cole Godzinski (North Reading, MA) in the 60-meter hurdles, senior Steffany Halfrey (Hubbardston, MA) in the 5,000-meter run and freshman Victoria Carreiro (Westerly, RI) in the long jump.
