Wittenberg Closes Out 2019 Track & Field Campaign With All-America Honors

Geneva, OH --- Ryan Wittenberg (Bedford, NH) earned his second career All-America honor in the 800-meter run with a seventh-place finish on the last day of the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Mount Union and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, at the SPIRE Institute.

Wittenberg handed in a time of 1:53.23 while 2019 indoor champion Kyler Lueck (Wisconsin - Eau Claire) won the title in hazy, hot and humid conditions with a time of 1:51.94.

The recent graduate is the fifth men's student-athlete in program history to earn multiple honors and joins 2006 WPI Poly Club Hall of Fame inductee Michael Pockoski as the only two men to achieve All-America honors in the same year. Pockoski earned accolades in the weight throw, and hammer and discus, in 1998 and 1999. It was also head coach Brian Chabot's fifth men's honoree and 18th overall.
