Packard and Thomas Tabbed as Track & Field/Cross Country CoSIDA Academic All-Americas
June 23, 2020WORCESTER --- WPI’s Sydney Packard and Oliver Thomas have been chosen as track & field/cross country Academic All-Americas, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Packard was selected to the first team while Thomas drew third team accolades. -
WPI Captures NEWMAC Men’s Presidents Cup for the Second Time
June 18, 2020Westwood, MA --- For the second time in the eight-year history of the award, WPI has claimed the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Presidents Cup, as announced at the conference’s annual meetings earlier this month. The Crimson and Gray also took home the honor after the 2014-15 academic year and had placed second in all four years in between the two victories. -

Bradley, Packard, Thomas Named Academic All-District for Cross Country/Track and Field
May 29, 2020WORCESTER, MA --- Senior Sydney Packard and juniors Johann Bradley and Oliver Thomas have been selected as Academic All District I Cross Country/Track and Field team members as voted upon by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) from Massachusetts and Maine. The trio moves is now under consideration for Academic All-America status. -

May 19, 2020New Orleans, LA -- Senior Sydney Packard, juniors Oliver Thomas and Johann Bradley and both of WPI's Distance Medley Relays have been named Division III Indoor Track and Field All-Americas by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). -
74 WPI Spring Student Athletes Garner NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Distinction
May 07, 2020Westwood, MA --- Highlighted by a NEWMAC best 16 baseball players, 74 WPI athletes have earned a spot on the 2020 spring NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Teams. In addition to the baseball honorees, 38 men’s and women’s track and field athletes, 15 members of the women’s rowing team, and five softball players were honored. -

May 05, 2020Don’t for one minute let the name of this team fool you. No, the Old Goat Track Club isn’t a group of 60-plus runners looking to clean up the senior divisions at area road races. Not that they’d turn back anyone just because they were graying at the temples. A group of recent WPI graduates, fresh from success in the Engineers’ cross-country and track programs, formed the Old Goat TC two years ago, seeking the outlet to remain competitive as they venture forth with their careers. -
Five Selected to NEWMAC Spring Sportsmanship Teams
April 30, 2020Westwood, MA --- WPI seniors Christine Hovermale (Alameda, CA) and David Larson (Port Tobacco, MD) and juniors Lauren Kaija (Reading, VT), Skylar O’Connell (North Attleboro, MA), and Benjamin Steeves (Hollis, ME) were named to their respective NEWMAC sportsmanship teams for the spring season. Larson represents the baseball team, O’Connell represents the softball squad, Hovermale represents women’s rowing and Steeves and Kaija represent the men’s and women’s track and field teams. -

March 12, 2020New Orleans, LA --- WPI’s Sydney Packard has been named the New England Region’s Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The senior was joined on the All-New England regional team by a pair of WPI relays and four individuals. -
