Women's Track and Field Net 12 Top-Five Finishes at Williams, New School Record at BU

Williamstown and Boston, MA --- The Women's Indoor Track and Field had participants at the Williams Track and Field Invitational where the team competed against Lehman, Middlebury and the host Williams. The Engineers tallied 12 top-five finishes at the event.  

Additionally the women's DMR set a new school record today at BU during the 2020 Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational that concluded today. The team was composed of Grace Hadley (North Reading, MA), Lora Dufresne (Sutton, MA), Lauren Kaija (Reading, VT) and Sydney Packard (Georgetown, MA) who finished the event ninth in 11:46.54 to currently sit fourth in the country. 

To start the day off in Williams, Arden Tanner (Ventura, CA) took second in the 55-meter dash in 7.58 while Maya Ellis (Troy, NY) placed fifth in 7.91. Ellis then went on to finish second in the 200 meters where she finished the event in 28.54. 

In the 55-meter hurdles, Elizabeth Kirschner (Hamilton, MA) represented the Engineers with a fifth-place finish in 9.34. Kirschner later took third in the high jump with a height of 1.51 meters and fifth in the long jump with a distance of 5.01 meters. 

Abby McLean (Holden, MA) qualified for the Division III New England Championships with her fourth-place finish in the pole vault where she hit a height of 3.10 meters. Keira Coulard-Smith (New Paltz, NY) took fifth in the pole vault with 2.95 meters. Liliana Foucault (Haverhill, MA) was the lone representative for the Engineers in the triple jump where she took fourth with a distance of 9.68 meters 

Allison Kloeckner (Shelburne, VT) claimed third in the shot put with a throw of 10.71 meters and was closely followed by teammate Emily Deptula (Watertown, CT) in fifth with a throw of 9.15 meters. Kloeckner ended the event for the Engineers with a 14.20-meter throw in the weight throw for a new personal record and a second-place finish in the event. 

The Engineers are back in action on Friday, February 22, when they head to Springfield, MA for the Springfield Triangle Invitational set to start at 10:30am.
