• Deschene Receives Selection to NEWBA Senior All-Star Team

    Northampton, MA --- Senior point guard Natasha Deschene was named to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) All-Senior team this week. Deschene averaged 7.3 ppg and led WPI in assists at 3.1 per game this season. Deschene piloted the Engineers to a 24-6 record this season, as well as the NEWMAC regular season title and the ECAC New England Region Tournament championship.

With the win, the second-seeded Engineers set the program's single-season wins record, finishing the season at 24-6.

With the win, WPI improves to 23-6 on the season, equaling the school record for wins in a season. In Sunday's championship tilt, WPI will travel to take on Nichols at 2pm.

    Worcester, MA --- Renay Hamilton and Nicole Wurdeman broke a 43-43 tie with baskets in the final two minutes to lift second-seeded Babson to a 51-43 win over fourth-seeded Wheaton in the NEWMAC Women's Basketball Tournament championship game Sunday afternoon at WPI's Harrington Auditorium. The win marks Babson's fourth conference championship and its first since 1999. Wheaton sees its season come to an end with a 17-11 record.

The win moves Wheaton (17-10) on to the NEWMAC Championship game, which will be held at noon on Sunday at WPI.
