Women's Basketball to Host Wellesley in Program's Annual Play4Kay Game Saturday

WORCESTER -- The WPI Women's Basketball team will be hosting Wellesley on Saturday afternoon at 1pm in its annual "Play4Kay" game.

The Play 4Kay initiative is an opportunity for a nation of coaches to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. Since the Kay Yow Cancer Fund's inception, $5.28 million has been granted for scientific research and related programs focused on women's cancers thanks to the generosity and continued support of our donors.

Fans are encouraged to join the teams, event workers, pep band and cheerleaders in wearing pink to the game.  According to WPI head women's coach Cherise Galasso, between the shirts, balloons and decorations, the WPI gymnasium will be a "sea of pink." In addition, the WPI Athletics website will go pink in honor of the event.
