Marsh Tabbed New England Wrestling Association Wrestler of the Week

WORCESTER -- WPI's Tyler Marsh (Upper Black Eddy, PA) has been selected as the New England Wrestling Association Wrestler (NEWA) of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 24th.  It marks the third the senior has been honored by conference as he was named Rookie of the Week in November of 2016 and Wrestler of the Week in November of 2018. 

The 165-pounder was a perfect 3-0 as the Engineers host a super quad on Saturday.  Marsh's day was highlighted by a first period fall over the current eighth-ranked wrestler in the country from Stevens (NJ).  The senior, who is a two-time national qualifier, began his day with a first period pin versus his opponent from Norwich before posting a 4-1 decision over a wrestler from Castleton in a match-up of regionally ranked foes. 

On the season, Marsh is 6-2 with a two pins and a pair of victories by major decision.  He is second in the most recent NEWA individual rankings.  Other Crimson and Gray wrestlers to appear in the rankings include Roman Ball (Maynard, MA) seventh at 149 pounds, Chase Lind (Fairfield, CT) seventh at 157, and Chris Cook (Mount Kisco, NY) eighth at 133.  

WPI is back on the mat on Saturday, December 7th at the RIT Invitational.
