Women's Rowing Has Strong Showing at Iconic Head of The Charles Regatta

Cambridge, MA --- WPI women's rowing had a pair of boats participating this weekend in the historic Head of The Charles Regatta.  The collegiate eight placed 10th and the club eight finished 27th in the 52nd annual event. 

The varsity eight crossed the finish line in windy conditions on Sunday in time of 19:02.263 to finish 10th out of 29 boats.  The Crimson and Gray was sixth among many top New England entries, finishing second of all NEWMAC boats, just 11 seconds behind defending NCAA champion Wellesley. 

The second varsity was competitive on Saturday in a race composed primarily of some of the US fastest clubs and Division 1 teams.  The Engineers reached the finish line in a time of 19:02.674 to best 12 other entries. 

WPI closes out the 2016 fall season on Saturday, October 29th competing at the Head of the Fish Regatta in Saratoga Springs, NY.
